Volunteers make a significant contribution to the work of the Trust – whether that’s helping out with environmental improvements, raising site standards or supporting our activity centres.
Volunteers help others to discover walking and they’re highly regarded by other walkers up and down the country. As a volunteer, you can develop a range of new skills. You could discover how to be a great leader. Or find out more about marketing and promotion. Or you could enhance your database or communication skills.
Moor trees are a local organisation replanting native trees across Dartmoor. They have planted 60,000 trees since being founded, and aim to restore Dartmoor’s lost forests and help local wildlife flourish. No previous experience is needed to volunteer and it’ s a great way to get outdoors, exercise and meet new people while helping preserve Devon’s beautiful natural environment.
vInspired is the UK’s leading volunteering charity for 14 – 25 year olds. vInspired helps young people to make their mark on causes that they care about, whilst learning new skills and talents along the way.
Employers are looking for candidates who stand out from the crowd, who have developed their skills, abilities and ambitions and who are not afraid to get involved. Volunteering and extra-curricular activities can help you achieve and demonstrate this.
